Single-channel pipettes cover the full working range in fixed steps: 0.1-2.5 µl, 2-20 µl, 5-50 µl, 10-100 µl, 20-200 µl, 100-1000 µl and 500-5000 µl. Most labs keep a set that spans small, medium and large volumes.
8-channel and 12-channel pipettes fill a full row of a 96-well plate in one stroke, which speeds up ELISA, PCR setup and other plate-based work while keeping volumes consistent across wells.
